Re: Hairless?

I have thought about this too- but I am 3 weeks from my preop and 4 from surgery. Here comes TMI (warning warning!)....

I keep that area shaved year round as I just CAN'T STAND hair...anywhere. But, my husband always laughs prior to a GYN appt because I warn him that I will be starting a short "grow out". I don't want her to think I moonlight as a porn star (thankfully, I have several friends that do the I don't think I am crazy.)

My gyn has never said anything to me and prior to my ablation I was not instructed either way...however, she has never seen what that area usually looks like...if you know what I mean.

All that being said: I have had several knee surgeries and was explicitly told by surgeons prior to the dates that surgery would be cancelled if I so much as a had a small knick from shaving. By the time my surgery date for my LSH gets here I will have waited 2 months from scheduling and years of misery and I am not willing to risk it....and so, the grow out will begin May 14

If they shave it...I will be overjoyed. If they don't, I will get around to it.

I stand corrected...

No woman should shave, wax, trim, etc. without checking with her surgeon first. The surgery really can be canceled if one does it herself because of the risk of infection from even a pinprick nick.

Re: Hairless?

They ended up NOT shaving me! Pre op instructions told me they might use clippers....guess it depends on the surgeion and where the incisions are going to be. I'm now day 2 post op & feeling pretty good. (I replyed earlier this week to this same mesage.)
