April 27th hysterectomy and left ovary/tube removal.

April 27th hysterectomy and left ovary/tube removal. Age 29 from Florida.

About 24 hours since I came out from surgery.

I am feeling a lot better today. Things went well; the surgery lasted a little over 2 and 1/2 hours. Great news was that the Dr was able to do horizontal incision instead of that he though would need to be a mid line incision! He actually removed the scar and tissue from my last three C-sections and made me one clean scar. So it will look nice. Like I already had or better. So no up and down scar under my belly button, yay! The lab came back during the surgery as emdometriosis and not cancer. They do send the samples for further testing after surgery to be safe. I will get the final answer over the next 6 weeks.

There was so much scar tissue on on my bladder from the past C-sections, and there was large endo tissue growing behind my uterus. Because of all that, by bladder did get worked on. So I have to wear the Foley catheter until next Monday while heeling.

The cyst was quite large as seen on ultrasound. They said my ovary was the size of a grapefruit. But my right ovary was healthy and they didn't have to touch it.

So as long as things continue heal well, it will be okay.

The drugs have me loopy but comfortable.

I will be here until tomorrow night or Monday morning.

I will be resting a lot when not taking my small walks, both here and at home.

Finally got some solid food this afternoon. But the nausea after surgery lasted until about 2AM today, a that time I was able to get water down faster and my diet allowance moved right along. I have been up to walk around twice and freshened up a bit.

Going to go rest some more.

Re: April 27th hysterectomy and left ovary/tube removal.

I'm glad things went well for you. They were able to leave my left ovary, too, thank goodness, though this last week my left side has really been painful. But they did an ultrasound on it and it looked fine, so I hope it stays that way!

Take care and remember to pamper yourself!

Wishing you a speedy recovery. They left my right tube and thankfully both ovaries. 3 1/2 weeks post op and feeling a little better now. Take it easy and don't try to over do it

Re: April 27th hysterectomy and left ovary/tube removal.

We are a day apart,I had my surgery the 26th. I was sent home yesterday. I also am 29 years old. I still have both my ovaries. They had to remove half of my right tube because of the Essure coil was through the tube. Hugs to you.
