I am struggling with the same decision right now too. It is such a hard choice to make. I am 30 with two healthy ovaries but a prominent family history of ovarian and breast cancer. I have no advice, other than the obvious, but I just wanted you to know that you are not alone.

Happy Belated Birthday! As for the decision to keep or not to keep....I high recommend the research opportunity offered on this website. Look for the thread...it will walk you through the pro's and con's and also they offer compensation for participating. I did it before my LAVH and was so glad I did. I was absolutely clueless until I enrolled in the study. It is a very personal decision and you must weigh the risks. Please speak to your Dr. as well...mine left the choice up to me. I ended up keeping one because the other one was a mess. Good Luck!
