New Here

I am new here as well and I wished I had found this site a couple of months ago. My emotions have run the gambet since I found out about my fibroid tumor. I had so many questions, so many worries. My Mother, who lives a distance from me gave me a few web sites that did calm me. I got a few books to read and understand what was happening to me but all that still left me wondering about a few things. I found this site by accident the other night trying to find out about post op care now that I finally got a surgery date. (I had issues with my bladder that my doctor wanted to address and take care of at the same time as my TAH) I didn't know anyone before with fibroids. Reading though all these, laughing with some posts, crying with others have helped me so much. Things I am feeling seem to be so common among all ove you. I am going to experience my last period just before my surgery. I didn't know whether to celebrate or cry. I have lived the last twenty years figuring out where I will be, what I'm going to wear, even to be sure to have dark sheets on the bed for my heavy bleeding. The pain has always been an issue from day one. I would pass out in school and still have to be in bed during my cramping sessions soaked in sweat from the pain. My I have gotten lenghty here and sorry. I live in a household of men and really have no place to vent or anyone to understand. I love this site. Thank you for being here.
