What should daughters and granddaughters know about the cancer risk in family?

I am 4th generation in my family, on my mothers side, and I too had a hyst before 50. As did my great grandmother, grandmother and mother. I am now concerned about my daughters and granddaughters. Should this come up when they get older? I hope that this stops with me, but you know all those good things keep coming back.

If you had your hysterectomy for cancer concerns, by all means make your daughter aware of this. She in turn should pass the information on to her daughters.

I would talk to your daughter about it. This way she can also let her obgyn know that cancer runs in the family.

Hello There
I agree with the other Sisters.
Information is a very useful tool. Your daughters and granddaughters should know all their family history, it can help save their lives.

What should daughters and granddaughters know about the cancer risk in family?

This is me, I have told my daughter in law, oldest daughter about the risk, I guess they really do not take this to heart. My daughter is about to give birth to her 2nd and it a girl, maybe they think they are too young for this. I keep them in my prayers. I do so hope that this does not happen to anyone else, and stops with me. (Not that I miss the periods, and pms.Ha Ha)
