Over, But Lots Of Questions

TVH on Dec. 28th. Great through surgery and for the 1st 4 days afterwards, then......."BOOM!!!" My moods are terrible. They change with the wind. I'm on the attack at every little thing. Then I will be sitting and just break out in tears. My Dr. is absolutely no help so I'm grasping at straws. If the ovaries are still waking up, what are some things that can trigger them to wake up faster? I'll try anything. My family is catching the "blunt" of these mood swings and it's not fair. There's got to be something that will get things going again faster. Does anyone have any answers?

Over, But Lots Of Questions

Hi Angel!

I'm sorry about your mood swings! I don't know if there's any way to speed up the process of ovaries 'waking back up', but I am wondering if there was a reason your DR did not give you some estrogen to help with this in the interim? (Sometimes there are very specific reasons why you cannot have it, I'm curious - did you / do you have endo?)

You might try and ask this question in the Hormone Jungle. There are lots of very experienced and knowledgeable ladies there; also in the NO HORMONE DESERT OASIS... that might be even a better place to look. Here's the link: https://www.hystersisters.com/vb2/for...php?forumid=34

I hope you feel better very soon! You've been through a great deal with this MAJOR surgery - try and relax, calm down, and just take good care of yourself.

Big s,

Hey honey, I was the same way

I started my moodiness ( beginning with a panic attack, never had one before) and depression on day 3. and today I am the same way again. I am starting to wonder if it's not from my percoset. I had one pill MOnday morning and then 1 today after not taking any for awhile. I am jumpy, crying at the drop of a hat, and generally a honkerblonky person to be around.

As far as the ovaries waking up after surgery, I am not sure if there's anything you can do to jumpstart it.

My dr did give me 7 days of valium after surgery when I complained and it helped my moodiness, but I may talk to him about something more long term when I go back tomorrow. An anti depressant might be just what I need to get me thru the next few months.
