3 days left!!! Nerves SHOT

Three days left and the nerves are kicking in! I think it was the pre-op today that did it. Plus the fact I started my period. UGH! I thought I would make it till Monday, but why not, one last blast! Thank you to everyone for all the advice and hints to make this go smoother for me. For all that have not bought the book on this site called “Through The Land of Hyster” it is a must. It is packed with helpful info and hints. I will be back as soon as I feel better and able to sit and type. Thanks again see you all soon. Penny

I know what you mean!

My surgery date is next Tuesday, Jan. 22. Yikes! Most of the time I'm OK, but once in a while I just get freaked out. A little cry usually helps. This is a new discovery for me; we were not really allowed to cry in my family. My boyfriend has been very supportive of my occasional crying. I get some anxiety out and then I feel better.

I just got my period, too! It will be SO strange to not get it anymore! It was very weird to be in the drugstore yesterday and walk by the tampons and pads, knowing I would never buy them again. I am so used to checking which stores carry my favorite brands, and I found myself doing that automatically at this new drugstore, and then I caught myself! In fact, I want to find a friend to whom I can give my supplies when I'm all recovered. I am well-stocked.

This website has been a tremendous help! Without it I know I'd be freaking out a lot more.

It'll be ok, really!

Ah, I'm newly returned from the castle! Brought the Hystersisters book with me, of course. What a wealth of information. I, too, flipped out before my surgery. A Cold 10 days before! It was a supreme test of nerves. You'll make it though and I must say it sure feels good being on this side. If I could make one suggestion, if you have a pharmacy that rents out hospital tray tables, (they usually deliver) -- get one. This is a lifesaver - she says as she types on her laptop to which is placed on her tray table! Smile - those pesky periods will be a thing of the past in no time. DH can't wait to take the tampons out of his glove compartment!

calm to nutty to calm again

Thank you for your thoughtful and reassuring posts!

By the way, I am SO done with hand-washing sheets in cold water before going to work (as in this morning)! Think I'll buy some new sheets during my lunch break today. Yay!
