I hate to tell you to take something, but Alka seltzer plus (the stuff for colds) usually kills whatever I have.
Please check with your dr to make sure this isn't too close to surgery to be taking otc medication.
Good luck!

You might want to add echinacea and zinc to your anti-cold regime. I was fighting off a cold before my surgery and the vitamin C, echinacea, zinc combo seemed to do the job.

Good luck (with the cold and with the trip to the castle)!

there is a big message at the top of the list here that tells which herbal medications you SHOULDn'T take and a link to that site.
I felt a cold coming on at exactly the same as you, only mine was a sore throat and a bit stuffy. I ate oranges, clementines, grapefruit plus popped a few vitC tabs, dranks lots of water and gargled with warm salt water every hour, plus followed it by gargling with Listerine. The next morning there was no trace of a cold.
Good luck and get lots of rest, and read the thread at the top regarding herbal remedies please!!!!!!

it's gone

I looked for that list earlier because I'm not sure but I think echinacea is one you have to avoid.

maybe try the search engine. Very sorry! didnt realize it was gone, just assumed it was there cause it's always there usually!
I found it very informative and it prevented me from using them so close to surgery.

It's just ALL your fault. JOKE! I did try that search engine, but that specific thread never popped up.... hrmmmm Maybe someone stole it. *gasp* whaddya think? lol I was mainly looking for info on "green tea", but I just realized it's not even an herb! Duh to me.... How are you feeling these days, MJ?

DON'T TAKE ZINC! That can disqualify you from having surgery! Type in Zinc on the search engine. Rest as much as you can. Call your doc with symptoms. Usually they'll take you as long as you don't have a fever. I had the sniffles when I went in which got worse in the dry hospital. LOL
