lymph edema

I asked my oncologist if there would be swelling from the lymph node removal and he said "no" The nodes will be surrounding the uterous and up. Are these the ones you had removed? or did they remove some lower ones? This has made me nervous thinking of him removing nodes. I mean won't there be some after affects from that?

stromal sarcoma

I had all the lymph nodes in the pelvic area removed. If I have been on my feet all day or have been sitting with my legs crossed by the end of the day my left ankle is swollen and my calf muscles are a bit thicker looking. The lymph nodes were removed as a precautionary measure. A ll the bits I had removed in the second surgery were all clear of cancer, the chemotherapy I'm having at the moment( which is very bearable, no sickness or nausea, sore muscles and joints for 3 days ) and the radiotherapy I will be having are also precautionary . My oncologist says the chemo and radiotherapy is in view of my youth ( I had my second surgery on my 40th birthday) that really gave me a lift.
