Re: Surgical Menopause with no HTR, 39 years old

Good luck to you! And nice to hear the Doc's advice! I have not tried any of the herbal supplements yet, but am still looking into it! Have heard it is very good to have your antioxidants and vitamin Bs! I need to get to the store to re-stock! Been out for awhile but work until 6 when the drug store is closed!! Nice remote areas!

I argree about embracing life without endo!! I made the mistake of going on HRT and had another sugery due to it!! So that is why I say Good luck to you!!! I have gone off mine so it does not return (or get any worse than it may already have)!! Keep strong and would love to hear if any of the herbal supplements work for you!!

Unhappy - Surgical Menopause with no HTR, 39 years old Re: Surgical Menopause with no HTR, 39 years old

8 weeks post-op, 2 weeks without the hormone patch and menopause has arrived full force. The hot flashes have increased in number and severity, even with the GNC Menopause Vitamin and Supplement pack that I have been taking. The insomnia has been bad, but this week has been the worst - I am now SLEEPWALKING Its happened 3 out of the past 5 nights. I did start taking Calms Forte to help with the insomnia during that time period, so I am going to lay off that and see if it helps. But everything on the internet that I have read says that there are no side effects to it. Has anyone else started sleepwalking during menopause?

Re: Surgical Menopause with no HTR, 39 years old

Hi there! Ya, the menopause can sure hit like a brick wall! That is why I gave in and did the hormone patch, but that was not the best for my history...and when I stopped, it is back again!!

I have been trying Black Cohash for hot flashes, can't say it is working a ton, but guess it may be worse if not on them, also maybe haven't been on it long enough. Taking Valerian Root for sleep...kinda works, helps a bit, just not fully. I guess it relaxes me more than anything.

But, I would have to say, no, I have never in the time since the surgery (just over a year) have I slept walked! I have tossed and turned and got up out of frustration, but never slept walked! Hopefully that stops for you! I wouldn't like that either!

Good luck in your recoveries and take care of yourself!!!

Re: Surgical Menopause with no HTR, 39 years old

Hi

I have been using the clomidine my gp prescribed, it's an old blood pressure treatment. It hasn't completely stopped the flushes but they are definitely not as bad, just one or two during the day that are very quick and during the night I still wake a couple of times. Yesterday I forgot to take them in the morning and by mid afternoon I noticed I'd had more flushes than usual and were more intense so they are definitely doing something. I can't take hrt due to my breast cancer. I can get to sleep but I do wake although I haven't had any sleepwalking.
