2 more days!!!

Well, the final countdown is upon me now!!! My TAH is scheduled for Wednesday (23rd). I was ok with everything till this morning. I have been preparing my DH and my kids for the jobs ahead of them. I have cleaned for days and finally have that done now. Now my nerves have set in. I officially now declare myself a basket case!!! I didn't think I would get this nervous and scared. My doctor had told me to quit smoking before the surgery, and right now that seems like a joke. I don't want to have to take anything to calm me down because that stuff always just puts me to sleep and I would rather be awake and play with my kids. But I also don't want them to see me in tears and worried either. Does anyone have any suggestions of what to do??? Anything to help???

You are in probably the most nerve racking period of being a LIW right now. It is normal to feel like you do and are not alone. Just try to stay busy playing with your kids and whatever else you can to take your mind off things. Sounds like you have everything else ready.

We will be right here for you to and you on. Come join us in chat and we'll do our best to help pass the time for ya there.

Do let us know how you're doing when you return from the castle and feel up to it.

Leigh,
you must remember that the waiting is the hardest part!!! I am not sure what kind of hyster you are having but I had tvh and did not need any pain meds except advil, my friend had tah and she was fine also, except for the fact that where the inceison was, it kinda reminded me of how I felt after having a baby, but everything was manageable, not knowing is the very worst part of this whole thing!!! the fear of it all hurt much more than the real thing!! you will be on the other side soon!!! just hang in there!! you will be fine. good luck!!

Hi There!

Hi leighann28655

s

Just wanted to say that you are not alone. I am going to the castle on the 23rd also.

Sounds like we are both having bouts of anxiety and nerves. I feel like I have a whole bunch of butterfly's in my stomach and have been fighting nausea because of it. DH has been really supportive through the wait but Im still a basket case too!

Take care and best wishes for an uneventful surgery and a fast recovery!

2 more days!!!

My best wishes for lots of healthy and a speedy recovery....

I had a supracervical hyst last arpil.. do to fibroids, endometreosis, and lots of adheasions.. I felt better for a while and have already had emergency surgery for a large cyst on the left ovary and of course much more adheasions...
Looks like the pain has become much worse and many more problems have arisen and i'm now going back in for a complete hyst..
My gyn sent me for a ct scan and then had me bring it to the chief of general surgey and he said WOW, that is a messy pelvic cavity... Its time that eveything be removed this time around.. THere is no two ways about it.. with the endo and ahesions practically gluing everything together, including the bowel and bladder...

I am a veteran of surgery.. This upcoming one to be the 13th of my lifetime... No matter how many surgeries you have there is always a thought of anxiety and fright... The only thing that is the same is the routine of what you have to go thru..
So all you ladies who are anxious and scared, it truly is normal and you just have to do your best and hope for the best..

be well and good luck.

Your getting so close!!!!!

If I could tell you anything it would be that the waiting is absolutuely horrible. It is the worst part!!!!! I read it so many times when I was waiting and I kept thinking "There really can't be that much of a relief when it is over" Well I am almost 5 weeks post-op and am really begining to see a great recovery coming along (slowly but surely) When I woke up from anesthesia the first think I thought (I may have even said it out loud)Wow I can't believe I really did it. I had put it off for so long that I think the anxciety was unbearable pre-op. I normally am so easy going, love my five kids and my husband. Before my surgery I became someone I didn't even recognize. I would cry unexpectly, or do the zombie stare at the wall thing. My husband kept saying "Are you going to be alright" Frankly I wasn't sure. But God is so good and I am back to my old goofy self. I will say the recovery was a little rough to start but it has gotten better and better. Soooooo Ladies in waiting. PLEASE! believe us when we say the waiting is the worst part. You guys are going to do great!!!!!! Your crowns are just waiting for you. so shiny they are blinding. Lots of love and a great big Jacqui

2 more days!!!

Lots of luck and health to you Lynn

The nerves as you know are all natural....

Think good thoughts and do the best you can..

You are extremely lucky to have a great support team...

Trust me, I've been there with not much help after my supracervical hyst.. My hubby was wonderful but he did have to get back to work at some point... The recouping process is so very important - so when you get home - be sure to rest as much as possible.. no lifting, and stuff like that...

be well and relax as best you can...

2 more days!!!

My LAVH is also on the 23rd. I have just been keeping busy all day today. Flowers started arriving today which made me really think that this is reality. I posted earlier that I am really kind of excited to finally have it done. With all the love and support from my family and friends, and everyone I have chatted with on this website, I really feel that this is the reason that I am not that nervous, just excited. No crying as yet...Hope it lasts through tomorrow. Keep in touch....Susie
