fear of general anestesia...

I'll second the "ask about a spinal" advice.

I did fine under a general for several surgeries (wisdom teeth, tonsils, D(notC)...), but then got really sick after a lap. Once they got around to giving me Zofran I was perfectly fine, and wouldn't spend any time worrying if I *had to* have a general again... but given the choice, I'd go for a spinal. At least check into it, so you know what your options are.

fear of general anestesia...

Wow!!! Thanks for all the responses. It's funny, I never would have thought to tell my doctor about my fear. I think it's a good idea to tell him. I feel very comfortable with him and I know he's a good surgeon and I trust him completely and that's the one thing keeping me from completely freaking out

I will tell him about my fear. But here's a question...when you have a spinal, do they give you something, like Valium. I would be completly scared during the whole surgery if I didn't have something to calm my nerves. The only thing that got me through my c-section okay, was me wanting my almost 7 pound twins out of me

Thanks again, everyone!
