Seems they also owe you a shower. Games could include how to creatively get rid of left-over menstrual products; who can go from supine to sitting without using abs the fastest (you know, since it won't hurt), and "guess the biggest clot I ever had".

Re: So, what's the dumbest thing someone has said to you @ surgery?

There was an episode of the Cosby show that made quite an impact on me. In the perfect family the day you got your first period was "Women's day" and you and Claire did whatever you wanted all day. Personally I was handed a Kotex.

But I'm now thinking Woman's day should be required for friends and family post-op. Somehow I can't see anyone doing more than helping me with the things I can't (which I'm completely grateful for), but I think there should be cake. And a chance to tell as many gory stories as you want while horrified people try to make it sound like "just part of a woman's life".

I haven't shared that I'll still have PMS. Saving that for a special day in the future.

Ha ha love it! Also had one of the nurses in the hospital say to me "I've had two c-sections I know what your going through"
Hmmm..do you talk to me when you no longer have a uterus!

You 2 are cracking me up even more now! And thx - I was standing most of the afternoon making unicorn poop cookies. Anyway, on a more morbid note, I am an artist and asked my doc to take a picture of this hugely grotesque thing she was going to take out of me and will be getting the pics at my 6 week mark (9/11). She would have done it with my cell phone but I didnt sneak it in with me being my first surgery and all. Anyway - wow - you are GREAT!!! Keep healing all!

Re: So, what's the dumbest thing someone has said to you @ surgery?

I had my knee scoped when I was 16. I was one of the first people done with just sedation at that hospital. I was fascinated (contributed to my later career choice) and the dr. took lots of pictures for me. Then he pulled the camera out of my knee and took a picture of me. It was so funny.

You reminded me my dr. owes me a look at pictures from my laparacopy but I don't know why. My tubal cysts probably.

Hope you get something you can frame.

P.s. unicorn poop cookies are cool and easy to make. I also have been to an endless number of baby showers with some really high end registries - and so I must be high on my pain meds right now but that shower party idea seems like a great one!

Re: So, what's the dumbest thing someone has said to you @ surgery?

Right now my uterus is trying to escape. I'm not even past early spotting and my uterus has cramped so hard that my abs are tight and sore. I think she's trying to jump out. Trying to ruin my party that I won't have.

Ooih, but I did just realize that I have started a family tradition that significant events are marked for my mom with an heirloom rose because you have find one for nearly any name. I wonder if they have any with the names I call my uterus? (They sound like the dad in A Christmas story trying to fix the furnace. And why I keep referencing TV stuff is beyond me; I don't even have TV! I need to get videos out and in my things to do without bending over basket though. Stupid what becomes important as surgery approaches. My mom's birthday is a week post-op so I'm completely fixated on her birthday gift (homemade pajamas). But to cover that I'm making them for her I"m also making some for me. I guess that's my uterine expulsion gift? (the last pair I'm worried about being a nice dark color).

Nah, I want cake. With a uterus on it. (I also don't really like cake much, but with raging hormones it sounds really good). I can just imagine the bakery in this rural area if that cake was ordered.

I may see how far I can get my mom to believe this desire.
