What to chose

I agree with you, horsewoman, that in my particular case I am not missing anything I needed anymore. I have 2 grown children, was 49 at time of surgery and certainly had no thoughts of pregnancy (been there, done that). I too felt no particular attachment to an organ than had caused me so much pain and suffering for several years.

However, my heart goes out to some of the younger women who desire to have children and have the same problems we had. That would make the decision very difficult and heart breaking.

My thoughts and prayers to any and all of our sisters that are in that situation.

Twyla's right, Candice....The final decision on whether or not you'll have an abdominal or vaginal hyst is the doctor's. May I ask why your hyst is necessary? I'm asking because you're so young. Have you explored all other options available to you? Is it absolutely necessary for you to have your ovaries removed?

If you haven't gotten a second opinion yet, that may be a good idea. Because your surgery is still a month away, you still have time to explore all your options. Best wishes to you, whatever your decision.

You ladies are the BEST

I am so pleased that you all took the time to write your comments and help me out, Thank you! Lets see, what's wrong you wondered, here goes....Enlarged & tilted uterus, adheasions, endo, some cysts on ovaries, left ovary is pulling away from the falopian tube. My intestines are/were practically glued/intertwined with my falopian tubs and yucky stuff like that. Pain on my left side since I was 14 years old, docs. are shocked/amazed that I was ever able to have kids. I have 2 daughters (Love of my life) 8 & 1 yr old. After many different doctors and bs from most telling me pain is in my head I finally got a couple that listen to me! She (my doc.) ordered a laproscopy and low and behold they found my mess inside!! I only wish they had cleaned me out then and there!!

I can't wait to get rid of the pain that has been located all on my left side for my whole adult life. My husband is looking forward to some .... pain free lovin for me .... <<blush>>
I am Sosososososo ready to get on with my life! You all have been so wonderful, I feel incredibly blest for having found you.

Thank you again.

PS It's amazing how great those cyber hugs feel.
