Not Set Yet, but still scared. LONG

Hi,

I thought I would take the opportunity to introduce myself and my situation.

I am 40 years old and looking at having a hysterectomy soon due to hyperplasia. I recently had my 2nd D&C after 6 months of progesterone to see if we could get this cleaned up without surgery. Unfortuantely my path reports indicate that there is still a problem, but no atypical cells or cancer at this point. Because of my history (colon cancer survivor along with 6 months of chemo) my is reluctantly going to do a hysterectomy. At least that's what he told me during my pre-op. Unfortuantely, because of my past surgeries and the fact that I am very much over weight, this surgery is considered high risk. :caution:

At least my colon cancer has been in remission for almost 3 years now! :

Anyway, how long did most of you have to wait before undergoing surgery? Or did your doctors say it was up to you when you wanted to have it? Personally, for me the sooner the better because then it will be done and over with.

Thank you for reading this. My ers are with all of you.

Hi SusaKay
Welcome to HysterSisters!! So very glad you found us. You will find a great deal of support and information sharing as you go through your surgery and recovery here!!

Congrats on being a cancer survivor!! Yah!! There are more and more of us all the time!! I as well had cancer and chemo.

Just wanted to let you know that on the home page ( the 3 little princess faces top left will take you there), if you scroll down to the bottom you will see pull down menus, and under the Ladies in Waiting section, you will find a great deal of information that I am sure you will find helpful.

Also the Princesses tell their stories forum is a wonderful place to read how others have made out with their surgeries and recoveries.

As for your question regarding how long a wait for surgery...well mine was due to cancer, and therefore it was pretty fast thankfully. I know others will be along shortly to answer this for ya as well!!

We will be here for you every step of the way, so be sure to ask any questions at all that come to mind!!
All the best to you SusaKay,
Hugs
Maria
