Hormone Therapy

Day #10 post op and I was wondering who out there is taking Cenestrin and how do they like it or not like it. What should be considered when taking hormone therapy...my sis was telling me it is important to get a balance of two things...she isn't sure what they are...any feedback in that department is certainly welcome. My major complaint about anything right now is major insomnia and of course uncomfortable...seems that everything shifts from one side the other and doesn't settle in...moving around or something. Thanks...

I can tell you I had insomnia for about a month or so post op. I called my Dr. and he prescribed Ambien and it helped big time. I am now sleeping on my own and feeling fine. Hope this helps.

Hormone Therapy

Hi Paqui 48,
I am two weeks post op and I am doing great! I am on a Estroil Patch and it has been working good for me. I only have to change it once a week. I had 2 hot flashes and that was the 1st. and 2nd day. None since!
I do know of Cenestrin it is made of Soy and Yams which is very good. I was going to go on this but the Dr. decided to try Estroil because I used it before. If I do start having problems with the Estroil patch I want to try Cenestrin. I was put on estroil because before my hyst. I was on Lupron injections to shrink my fibroids and I went into menopause so they put me on the estroil and progestrone. I had my ovaries at the time and because of the chance of getting cancer from just estrogen (estroil) you have to have progestrone to balance the estrogen. You only need progestrone if you still have ovaries. But please ask your Dr.!!!
I have some aches but I just rest and it goes away, very important to rest!!\

Take Care,
Super Hyster (Gloria)
