Pain in the lower right abdomen?

HI ladies,
I have a question? Months before surgery I had this pain in my lower right abdomen. I always blamed it on my right ovary. However, shortly before surgery the dr. examined me and said it was not my ovary. But of course she didn't know what it was.

Now I am 12 days post op. and that same pain is still there. Other than that I feel pretty good. The pain gets worse if I have to pee, and it really gets bad in the morning when I feel a BM coming on.

Does anyone have a clue as to what this could be?

Pain in the lower right abdomen?

Hi Sparkler, I really don't know what the pain might be. Have you checked with the doctor's office about it to let them know that the pain is still there. I think I would do that. Since you say it's the same pain, there is obviously something still going on there. Or it could be pain from surgery where something was removed from that area. Check with the doctor and see what they say.

Pain in lower right abdomen

Hi there Sparkler, I also had lower right ab pain. In fact I had it for many months pre-surgery. I'm not sure if it's the same type of pain as yours, but it was very severe. And it was never on my left side, only the right side. I have endo and had 2 surgeries in 2001 before I finally made the decision to have a hyst. My obgyn referred me to a neurologist about 2 weeks before my surgery. She was very interested in the case as she thought it might be nerve damage caused by my endometriosis. I decided to have the hyst (had it on 12/28/01) and see if the removal of the ovaries, etc, (basically the cause of the nerve damage) would help alleviate the symptoms. I still have some pain in that area (like you it's where my ovary used to be) although not nearly as bad. I will keep monitoring it & will definitely go back to the neurologist if the pain persists. What the neur. said was that I had an extreme parasympathetic nervous system response to stimulus in that area. Translation? The nerve receptors in my abdomen were overly sensitive when she pressed on the area. It could be an indication of some nerve damage. I didn't have any type of testing or nerve mapping to confirm or deny the theory, as I wanted to remove the cause before trying to go into more "discovery" about the symptoms. But there may be something in this as the endo pain was so bad for so long that the nerves just haven't been able to stop the pain receptors & get back to their normal state. I'm probably not giving you the exact correct medical terminolgy here as I'm just exploring it myself. You may want to discuss it with your gyn or PCP. It can't hurt to get more information. I hope your pain goes away and you are feeling better soon!
