This changed my life.

I want to start an inspiratioinal thread for all to enjoy that may possibly change lives. My thought for this thread is to something that changed your life (whether it be a quote or an experience). I will start the thread with my experience. I will go with the obvious...my hysterectomy changed my life. I have felt a sense of strength ever since that I didn't have before. I am much more comfortable making decisions as having a hysterectomy was my choice (not a medical necessity as I had a prolapse). I hope this thread takes off sisters

Re: This changed my life.

I will add to this cause and love it by the way.. I am still recovering, my main problem being my bladder. that being said I can tell I will feel great when recovery is complete.

My hyster has changed my life too, not just for the obvious reasons, but because of this surgery, for the first time since I was a child, I can proudly announce that....

I AM A NON_SMOKER !! I've smoked for 22 years, never gone more than 24 hrs without smoking, I haven't touched a cigarette in 16 days and I'm not going back.

Congratulations! I am also now a nonsmoker! Day 10 here and I'm not going back, either!

I can also tell already that my life is changing for the better. There's a heaviness in my abdomen that's gone in spite of all the swelling and I oddly enough have more energy even though I'm having the normal post surgery fatigue and not doing much other than resting and walking.

Another bonus..... I have joked my entire life about having the "world's smallest bladder." I've always had to urinate frequently. Turns out my uterus was severely tipped forward and putting pressure on my bladder. In spite of having some bladder spasms after sugery, it's a whole new world to me to go 3 or 4 hours without having to pee.

CONGRATULATIONS back to you.

My bladder has always given me grief, but when it is done healing I will have another life changer to add to this thread

Re: This changed my life.

I think inspiration is a wonderful idea. I would definitely add and read it

I have found the best source of inspiration to me is talking to peers and reading my bible. There is so much wonderful stuff in the bible.

A great quote I just found:
Never tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon.

Re: This changed my life.

Sorry have to post a Great poem by my Favorite poet:

Don't Quit

When things go wrong as they sometimes will,
When the road you're trudging seems all up hill,
When the funds are low and the debts are high
And you want to smile, but you have to sigh,
When care is pressing you down a bit,
Rest if you must, but don't you quit.
Life is queer with its twists and turns,
As every one of us sometimes learns,
And many a failure turns about
When he might have won had he stuck it out;
Don't give up though the pace seems slow--
You may succeed with another blow,
Success is failure turned inside out--
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt,
And you never can tell how close you are,
It may be near when it seems so far;
So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit--
It's when things seem worst that you must not quit.

Re: This changed my life.

This has also changed my life because I have found a wonderful circle of women that have reminded me that people do still have compassion for one another.
