See it Through
When you're up against a trouble,
Meet it squarely, face to face;
Lift your chin and set your shoulders,
Plant your feet and take a brace.
When it's vain to try to dodge it,
Do the best that you can do;
You may fail, but you may conquer,
See it through!
Black may be the clouds about you
And your future may seem grim,
But don't let your nerve desert you;
Keep yourself in fighting trim.
If the worst is bound to happen,
Spite of all that you can do,
Running from it will not save you,
See it through!

Even hope may seem but futile,
When with troubles you're beset,
But remember you are facing
Just what other men have met.
You may fail, but fall still fighting;
Don't give up, whate'er you do;
Eyes front, head high to the finish.
See it through!

Re: This changed my life.

Yet another Edgar Guest poem:

Things Work Out
Because it rains when we wish it wouldn't,
Because men do what they often shouldn't,
Because crops fail, and plans go wrong-
Some of us grumble all day long.
But somehow, in spite of the care and doubt,
It seems at last that things work out.

Because we lose where we hoped to gain,
Because we suffer a little pain,
Because we must work when we'd like to play-
Some of us whimper along life's way.
But somehow, as day always follows the night,
Most of our troubles work out all right.

Because we cannot forever smile,
Because we must trudge in the dust awhile,
Because we think that the way is long-
Some of us whimper that life's all wrong.
But somehow we live and our sky grows bright,
And everything seems to work out all right.

So bend to your trouble and meet your care,
For the clouds must break, and the sky grow fair.
Let the rain come down, as it must and will,
But keep on working and hoping still.
For in spite of the grumblers who stand about,
Somehow, it seems, all things work out.

Re: This changed my life.

My child and I have a phrase we say when we need to have courage and be tough: I'm strong, I'm brave, I can do this today HOOAH....gotta add the sound effect just wasn't sure how to spell it LOL.

Re: This changed my life.

Congrats ladies in quitting!

When I need courage I sometimes say to myself 'I am woman hear my ROARRRRR' makes me feel braver' lol!!!

My hyster appears to have resolved a condition I had for 15 months (pcs) which meant living in pain (even on HUGE meds) constantly - my life felt ruined. I felt half a mother, half a wife, half of me. Now I feel like I am coming back! Every good day I could weep for joy. I made love to my husband without pain - I cannot tell you how good that was (sorry TMI!) So yeh my hyster changed and saved my life!
You sisters are the cherry on top!!!

I need to do something like that for my almost 10 year old. She has such low self esteem and it breaks my heart. =(

Thank you. I agree with your feelings, I feel the same way. I know once I am healed that I will be absolutely ecstatic to no have pain every single day like I did. This website has been an amazing uplift for me. I was really down after I had it done because of my age and then the emotions and side effects after the surgery. This sisterhood is a blessing from God.

Re: This changed my life.

Hello again sisters I am glad you like the Edgar Guest poems. I absolutely love his works! I came across his poetry by accident when I bought an old book of poems he wrote at a used book store. Livvy72, I too have experienced way more pleasure in the bedroom with my hubby (and if you ask me it's not TMI). I wish I heard about sex getting better before I had my hysterectomy as it is mindblowing spectacular!! I had a prolapse and didn't realize what I was missing until after my surgery.

Not sure who wrote this quote but I like it:

The best way to predict the future is to create it.
