Things to look forward too.

We tend to focus a lot on the painful affects of a hysterectomy, understandable being on a pre-op board, but I thought it might be...humm....inspiring? if we made a list of all of the things we can look forward to in the future!

1. No more painful periods!
2. No more PMS (my husband will be so relieved LOL)
3. No more birth control pills, condoms, patches, IUDs.
4. You can swim ANY time of the month without having to worry about a "sally speaks' pull string.
5. You can wear white pants/shorts/skirts/dresses without fear!
6. You can swim in the ocean without worrying about shark attacks!
7. No More Maxi Pads! (those darn things can get pricey)
8. Thongs all year around! (okay, I hate thongs, but I figure some women may like them.)
9. In the words of my mom "Hot flashes keep you warm in the winter!"
10. No more period Bloat.
11. No having to find the nearest bathroom everywhere you go.
12. No more paranoia about pads leaking.
13. No more worrying about ruining nice panties. (Which means we can get rid of all our ugly period panties!)
14. Whats Midol?
15. Instant weight loss! (how much does a Uterus weigh?)

Humm...thats all I can think of right now. Feel free to add on!

Re: Things to look forward too.

I'm looking forward to #15 for me.... My endo mass is larger than a babies head and towards the front of my body. Maybe I can get rid of an inch or two in my waistline!!! LOL!!!

Oh and I am also looking forward to 1-14 also!!!

Re: Things to look forward too.

Great post!
16. No more murder scenes to wake up to.
17. No more birthing baby aliens!
18. No need for nasty granny panties.
19. Sex without pain after?! My fingers are crossed.
20. A different kind of "messy" sex?

Lol I think u covered all the good ones and I can't wait to have nice panties that stay nice and WEAR WHITE! I don't dare do that ever, usually around the house in dark sweats all hell breaks loose when I sit or stand ;o0

Re: Things to look forward too.

23. No more embaressing situations you have to either run from, or try to explain....usually in vain.

Example: I started a new job in September. I work at a high school. I went in for my first day and had to go to the bathroom, so I went into one of the stalls and did my deed. There was a LOT of blood. It looked like I murdered someone in there, I turned around to flush the potty....and to my horror...it wouldn't flush. I waved my hand at it, stepped on the handle, begged and pleaded...nope, no luck. Soooo I told my best friend who happened to be in the bathroom with me (cause it's a school and girls flock. LOL) and she called the male custodians! OMG...I got out of there Fast.

Re: Things to look forward too.

My surgery is scheduled for 19/11/2012. I have already told my colleagues that my first day back to work, I WILL be wearing white pants!! If for no other reason, BECAUSE I CAN!
