Re: What are you looking forward to post-op?

LOVE LOVE LOVE this thread!!! What a fun way to look at the positive instead of focusing on the fear and anxiety.

I'm looking forward to~

buying pretty underwear
not worrying about bleeding through to the sheets at night
being "romantic" with my husband spontaneously
taking a vacation with the money I'll save on feminine products!
no more 800 mg motrin
getting back 3 weeks a month from pain
feeling sexy AGAIN!!
more energy to play with my family again
being able to laugh, cough or sneeze without having to triple cross my legs
not carrying this cantelope sized cyst around with me anymore
Spending more time with my husband than I do with my heating pad!!]

Re: What are you looking forward to post-op?

Love this conversation. The things I am looking forward to:
•No more cancer
•Enjoying my oldest daughter's freshman year
•Enjoying my youngest daughter's kindergarten year
•Going to Disney World
•Being intimate (with my hubby)
•Going back to work
•Going grocery shopping without being in horrendous pain afterwards
•Going to the mall
•No more pads
•Gaining back the weight I lost during treatment that I couldn't afford to lose
•Having a girl's night with my best friend

I'm sure there are more but I will leave it at this!

Re: What are you looking forward to post-op?

Chloe, I'm glad you got a laugh out of my mattress sized pads, my daughter(age 6) calls them diapers! I will just be happy to feel normal again, the last 3 years have been horrible.

Re: What are you looking forward to post-op?

I was simply looking forward to no pain and nausea and possibly improved bike rides; however, I woke from surgery happy. I mean happy. Happier than I'd been in years. Talk about surprise. Apparently I needed estrogen or perhaps it helped my body? Right now, I'm looking forward to plyometrics again!!!! And hopefully without pain now

Re: What are you looking forward to post-op?

Dancing at my daughter's wedding, not planning our sex life, standing up without worrying about "gushing", not feeling bloated, pretty undies!

Re: What are you looking forward to post-op?

Immediately post-op: Sleep! I can't wait to get some sleep! My family will let me sleep when I'm sick, so I know they'll leave me alone after the surgery.

Then...
no more pain
no more 800mg of ibuprofen every 8 hours
no more narcotics
no more cramps
no more pads
feeling like exercising again
feeling like doing anything again!

I need to add these, too....
Now I know I'm not the only one who pays twice for going to the grocery store! First, with money for the groceries; then second, the pain and pressure I have from doing the shopping. It's like I pick up and swallow a bowling ball and some ice picks while grabbing some cereal, bread and milk!
