Just wanted to let you ladies know that I am at home. Surgery went well, and there is pain, but I know now that it will be okay.

Welcome home!

I am glad that your surgery went well and that you are back at home. I am sure that it is a great relief to have it over with.

Princess Redstick!

Glad you came through surgery well. Be sure to take your pain meds before the pain gets too bad. If you wait until it is almost unbearable, the nerves are over-stimulated with pain messages and it's hard to calm them down. Take it easy now and let yourself be pampered. Best wishes

Day 2

Thanks to everyone. I posted this on the post-op boards, but I thought I would share here also.

The pain meds have not treated me well. I was taking percocet (sp), but stopped taking it about 3 yesterday. I felt like I was taking speed and developed the worst headache that I have ever had. I really have not slept for more than 2 hours since I Came out fom under the anathesia.

I am planning to call the doc. first thing in the morning to get something else. For now I am using warm baths, pillows, hot tea and 3-200 mg of motrin every 4 hours. The motrin keeps the pain at bay, but does not stop it.

On a good note, I feel pretty good, have eaten a little bit, am drinking a lot, and taking short walks down th hall every few hours.

It is at time's like this that the importance of family is spotlighted.

God bless,
