I'm Back!

Hello ladies! I was supposed to have a total hyst. last summer, but found out I had thyroid cancer instead! My summer incision was to be on my abdomen, not my neck! I had surgery to remove a golf ball sized tumor from the right side of my thyroid, that was benign, but cancer was found behind it. Three weeks later, to the day, I had another surgery to remove the left side of my thyroid and darn if there was not cancer in that side too! Needless to say, the hyster had to wait, I used up all my sick time! Now, I am facing the hyster again, cramps are doubling me over and the clots and bleeding can be horrific. All I have to do is call the doc to schedule the surgery, but I am so afraid of that operating room. I am having flashbacks of the second surgery, I was so upset, going in knowing I had cancer. I can hear the noises, feel the cold temperature and even still smell it, is this ridiculous or what? I am in such pain each month, but still I hesitate. I don't want to deal with the pain (I was happy to read about the pain ball). I have no support here at home, I know I will find it here. Please forgive me if I sound whiney, I really don't mean to be. Thank you for still being here!! Maggie

I'm Back!

Hi Maggie I can see why you are even more nervous you have been through alot already. I was also very nervous and this site helped me out alot. I can honestly say that for me the waiting was the hardest part. As far as the pain I had hardly any, and you will be given pain meds. I will tell you that for me my periods where more painful.
