YouTube videos of procedures, do you watch them

I'm amazed the things they show on youtube. Just watched videos of the surgery I'll be having. Very cool.

Do you watch them or do you stay far far away?

Re: YouTube videos of procedures, do you watch them

I watched every video and read everything I possibly could about the surgery. Plus my doctor gave me DvH materials. I wanted to be as informed as I could be. They even let me stay awake to see the Robot.
My doctor even gave me a dvd of my own surgery!!
This is a great forum to ask questions and learn!
Welcome.

A DVD of my own surgery would be so cool. I'm trying to research all I can on what I'm having done, now that I know what that is, it's much easier.

I watched them, but my Dr also had my husband and I go into a room and watch a video of the procedure 2 weeks before my surgery, just so we both would understand what would be happening

Re: YouTube videos of procedures, do you watch them

I thought about it, but I passed on the videos. I read all I could but the idea of watching it got me a bit panicked.

Re: YouTube videos of procedures, do you watch them

Watching is making me ill, which is strange because I've seen all kinds of weird injuries, etc. Maybe I'm just extra sensitive to this particular surgery. I hope to be able to watch it, or see pics or video of it once it's done. I am curious, just can't get there quite yet.

Re: YouTube videos of procedures, do you watch them

I'm with Confused and Funnelcake.... I can read all about it, but I can't watch it. I got into the first 2 minutes and my stomach started turning, which is very odd because I can handle blood and trauma in any emergency. I guess because then the adrenaline kicks in and to sit there and watch the video is intentional. I can't even watch when they do surgeries on a TV show...

My sister watched a video and said it was fascinating. She was surprised that I didn't want to watch....

I have only found one video of an abdominal hysterectomy. I'm having a supracervical abdominal one.
