I am now prepared (after pre-op day from H***)

I am know well prepared for my surgery next Monday (2-11-02). I had my pre-op scheduled for 2-6-02 which turned out to be the day from H***, but in the long run I think it helped me.
Here goes:
I awoke on pre-op day at 4am with a virus (both ends were very busy) - called my doctor's office at 8am to see if we could reschedule my pre-op. Was told no if I didn't come in today they would have to cancel my surgery - my response well I will crawl there if I have to. So I rest until right before time to leave for the doctor's office. Do alot of praying that I will make it there without an accident. I make it there, but still feel horrible - they do their thing and I speak with my doctor and all is well. Then off to the hospital -- feeling worse now, still praying I will make it without any accidents. Once at the hospital they are very nice and understanding that I have to leave the room every few seconds to puke my guts up. They take 3 big tubes of blood (after 2 sticks) and I am on my way home. Make it home with no accidents - praying all the way.
Get home and by early evening my stomach hurts so bad I can no longer take it -- get DH to take me to ER -- they can't get a vein for an IV so they stick me 3 times --- but I am dying so it really doesn't matter ----- finally they give me a shot of phenergen to help ease so they can possible get an IV in --- finally they get it in and give me 2 huge bags of fluid to rehydrate me. Finally we get to leave at about 1:30 am (poor DH had to get up at 6 for work).

The reason I say I am prepared is -- on Monday after my surgery I will be sure to remember Wednesday and the fact that I have a morphine pump will surely make Monday alot easier than the pre-op day from H***.

EVERYTHING HAPPENS FOR A REASON!!!!

God Bless,
Angie
