Thanks
Thanks for all your stories about how long you all stayed in hospital. I guess it really varies. I'm just going to go with the flow for now. I can't be stressing out over that. I do have tons of help if I have to come home - DH will be home with me and my mom and dad live next door and I have two sons (17 and 20) living at home. I'm sure I'll want for nothing. Its just the thought of getting dressed, out to the car and back in the house.
It does seem like if you have a LAVH or a TVH it is more common to go home the next day while a TAH (which is what I'm having) means a longer stay. My sister-in-law had a LAVH and they sent her home the same day, I don't think she was there but about 12 hours! I asked her how the hospital rooms were and she said she wasn't there long enough to know.
AMI - I just have to know - what do you mean 'double TAH'? You said just ask and you'd tell. I'm really curious. And what you said about the insurance company makes a ton of sense to me.
Thanks for all your good wishes. My best to all of you.

Another Thing To Worry About!
Hiya Polly!
I'm glad the info made sense, hopefully your mind will ease some, this can be stressful enough!
OK...I was born with 2 (two) uteri, unlike you and the majority of women who were born with only 1(one) uterus. I only have one set of ovaries, but also had 2(two) cervix as well and a septum dividing my vagina until 1995 when my second child was born. The adenomyosis and adhesions affected both uteri, the adhesions actually 'glueing' the two uteri together eventually, causing much pain, complications, etc...
In Nov of 2000, my doc removed BOTH uteri as well as both cervix...hence the double hysterectomy. Too bad I didn't get 2 crowns as well!
Very best of luck to you!
Ami
