vaginal inflamation and pelvic pressure with fibroids?

Anyone else have this problem?

I was diagnosed in December with an 11cm fibroid that is pressing on my bladder. The ultrasound showed several other fibroids as well as a 7cm cyst on my cervix. I was uncomfortable before but within the past week it has gotten much, much worse...even painful at times....and frequent urination. I went on a 6 mile hike last saturday and HURT afterwards. The last time I did 6 miles was in November and I work out regularly so the hike shouldn't have affected me like it did. I believe the fibroid may have moved (dropped?) and I can feel it throbbing at times. Does this make any sense?

My vagina is also inflammed. The inflammation occurred after sex Wednesday and it still hasn't gotten any better (Friday now). I called my GYN today and he's on vacation for 2 weeks. The other doc was horribly busy so they sent me over to the outpatient center of the hospital for a urinalysis to check for a bladder infection (negative). I've had bladder infections/yeast infections before and this doesn't feel the same. It's liveable but very uncomfortable.

They scheduled me for an appointment with the back up doc next Wednesday but in the meantime.....Anyone else have problems with inflammation, pressure, throbbing fibroids? What do you do to help?

Hi Dollie...I didn't have those symptoms, but wanted to drop in and give you a . You are doing the right thing by seeing a doctor on Weds. Let us know what you find out and in the meantime take it easy!

Saw the doc today. The fibroid dropped and is now putting extreme pressure on the bladder. She told me that it's a wonder I can hold any urine at all....but the surgery date can't be moved up. My doc is on vacation one more week and the hospital surgery schedule is booked unless it's an emergency. There's nothing to do but grin and bear it and wait 27 more days. Oh well the end is in sight. Although it seems very much like being pregnant (lol).

The inflammation is occuring because of a low grade bacterial infection that is much like a yeast infection. I'm taking oral antibiotics now. She said it's actually very lucky we found out about the infection because we can eliminate the infection prior to surgery.

Oh....I now have a 3rd opinion....a hysterectomy is a must. As she performed the pelvic exam her exact words were "your uterus is huge!" Absolutely no doubts about this being the right thing to do.

Dollie,
You are not going to belive how much better you feel after your surgery. I didn't have a hyst, but I had a myomectomy for a 7cm fibroid that was low down in my uterus also and sitting right over my bladder. If I did a kegal, it felt like I was trying to lift a bowling ball with my vagina. You'll feel like you're dancing on air once that
awful fibroid is gone. good luck!!!

I had a fibroid that was roughly the size of yours. I was fairly symptom free until the surgery, but knew it was going to become a problem if not taken care of. Plus, it had grown so rapidly that it was degenerating which can be causing some of your pain. My uterus was the size of a volleyball when it was removed.

I feel much better now. I'm sure you will, too.
