3 Days & Counting

Hi, I will hve TAH/BSO on Thurs, 2-14, Happy Valentine's Day, I know how you feel, as it gets closer, I have funny feelings in my stomach. I am not afraid, yet normal feelings stir for the unknown that will happen. This site has been helpful, just found it a few weeks ago. I have already learned a great deal and found comfort in a great deal that is given. Make sure you go to the pre-op site and get the list of what to take/prepare for after surgery...it is a good list. I was diagnosed and survived Breast Cancer last April, had a mastectomy and a reconstruction of my breast from abdominal muscle and tissue....this hopefully is my last big adventure for a while, I am 52 and fortunatelly, healthy. God has truly blessed me, put your faith in Him, and you will do great. I will remember you on 2-19, think of me on 2-14.

You can do it. The best is yet to come when it is over.

Hey Fletchl, you and I really are hyster sisters. I will be thinking of you on your big day. I am ready to quit the waiting, how about you? I am better today, this is just running through all of the systems. (wondering if I get to keep the sexy, sultry voice) haha Dr. called me today with some interesting developments. She had surgery on her shoulder right after the first of the year. Apparently, she isn't fully recovered and, after my thinking she was calling me to re=schedule my appointment at the castle (ye gads!!!) she just wanted to know if it was okay with me if her associate could be the lead Dr. and she assisted. I was thrilled because they are both wonderful Drs. I will be attended to by not one but two terrific people. This has settled medown quite a bit. Dr. also suggested that I refrain from taking any more aspirin or advil until surgery. She indicated that decongestant and antihistamines are okay. I have been steaming my face twice a day, am getting great skin through all of this. What time is your surgery scheduled? I am 7:30 am (mountain time) Thanks for your support. I hope you are feeling better. Stay hydrated after all of that fluid loss. I know what you mean about being sick after the procedure. I think I dread that more than anything. I am going for pre-op on Thursday to talk about among other things, anesthesia options. I always get so ill after general, I am hoping for epidural, with some happy meds. She is amenable. hopefully. Take good care these last 6 days, cause on the 7th we become princesses. Paula Hey apnatic, good luck on the 14, will be praying for a speedy recovery for you. Roz, Dr. didn't seem too worried, said it sounded like a virus. I don't have the throat thing going on anymore, just conjestion, though not too bad. Hugs and love to you. me.

Hi Pudge,

I am feeling better too, Thanks! I called the DR office today and reconfirmed my surgery date but I'm still not sure what time it is. I have to call tomorrow to schedule my pre admission testing. I am also ready to get this over with. I had really bad cramps all morning and I kept thinking the surgery date seemed so far away I just want to feel better....but that afternoon the cramps weren't nearly as bad and then it seemed like the surgery was coming up too quick. I want it over but I am afraid. I have never had any type of surgery before and have only been in the hospital when I had my children. So the whole thing is new to me.....and I thought my D&C was scary! I have no idea about anesthesia options, i guess i will find out when I go for my PAT. Keep me posted on how you are doing. Take Care of yourself!
