update on caring for myself at home

thanks to all of you who have answered my questions over the past week, I have had a good talk with my sister - she does think I should be on her third floor by myself, she has 3 children at home and a very busy household & she feels strongly that I should be in a bed not a couch - and that I might not need a hyst - she has spoken to a few people and found an article- well I nicely told her I was fine with the decision to have the hyst, and was panicked at the thought of being by myself on her third floow with a bathroom, and no access to food. She said she'll do whatever i want, and that she'll come stay with me for a few days, in addition to staying with me in the hospital - she'll just make arrangements for others to take her kids to school, and for my bro-in -law to do dinners etc. I told her we could see how i do, that maybe she could just stay the first night and come during the day during the week - that my only concern was getting help eventually with the laundry. she said "that's not problem". I do feel alot better, even tho she doesn't get my concerns or worries - ie why are you thinking about where you will have radiation therapy - why not cross that bridge when you get to it - she did listen to me explain that this is how I cope with stressors/problems, and the fact that i need an oncologist on call, means that there is a chance that they will find something, need to take nodes and washings, etc, and I want to be in charge of where I go for care.- not to my hospital, where I am having the surgery, and where I was the oncology social worker for 12 years. I want to go to the hosp. in my current job area (1.5 miles down the street), where the radiation oncology RN's are my former dialysis nurses, and I can get rides to tx, someone to hold my hand, and bring me back to work (where I can continue to earn money, after being out for however many weeks) - makes sense to me - right ?? gotta get ready to call the md at 8am to say I am home awaiting his call. later ladies.
