Re: Sister's I need a hug

I hope you find a way out. I'm sure you will. And I can tell you that about a week after I left my controlling, drunk, hoarding spouse I had this morning where I woke up and realized I could do whatever I want, wasn't impacted by someone else's moods and whims, and I felt an enormous sense of joy and freedom. I did not have children so the exit was easier, but if you are unhappy it is truly worth it to get out and find happy. Wishing you all the best luck and sending you a big hug. I'm here for you.

Re: Sister's I need a hug

First Wandatd, big hugs and lots of strength to you!

You have made a big decision and getting through the next few weeks and months won't be a piece of cake but it can be done and you are the champion who is going to do it.

Think of the situation at this point in time as like a car crash/ train wreck. You are the first medic on the scene and so you must asses the situation.
What is important, what is urgent? What actions do you have to take NOW!
Lawyers, paperwork, finances etc. Do you need to store paperwork and documentation securely away from your home?
Get yourself organised because you are not a victim, you are a woman taking control of her life back.

Love and hugs

Re: Sister's I need a hug

Hi Wanda,

I left my husband 4 years ago (on the 25th of this month). He wasn't an alcoholic, but he was a manic depressive.

Telling someone who is dependant on you that you can't be there for them anymore, is possibly the hardest conversation I have ever had to have. And the feeling that goes with is must be worse than seeing a puppies face as you abandon it. It's awful, and you will feel a whole heap of things including guilt.

Just remember, we are here for you, and one morning you will wake up knowing you've done the right thing and feel free again.

Much Love
Fuzzpuss xx

Re: Sister's I need a hug

Hi WandaTD

Separation is tougher than most un-separated people can ever guess, but when you make the decision, and go through with it, and face all the hurt and financial complications and distressed kids and fractured friendships and all the rest, you will end up feeling strong and victorious. Good luck with it. I have been there too, so I can say so with conviction. You will survive, and then you will thrive.
