I am 5 days post op today. I felt all your feelings my DVH surgery was jan 2nd. I had at 1pm in recovery by 2 , went home by 8pm. Once you have surgery and on the other side to recovery it will all be ok. you will see. prior to surgery, keep yourself busy but also rest. get a massage manicure. read a good book or download music/books to enjoy during your recuperation.make checklists. be good to yourself. take naps and rest. get ativan or some anti axiety medication to help with your anxiousness too. it helps alot. I also had my dr. call in pain script filled and picked up ahead of time.write down your questions for pre and post op so you are prepared. knowledge is power . make recipes or foods for soft food diet regime for after post op. shop for granny panties and some yoga or sweat pants to wear postop. prepare your hospital bag if you anticipate an overnight stay. stock up on any OTC meds you might need so yu dont have to go out and get post op.these are all things I found helpful for me. I hope It helps. You will not believe how good you will feel in a short period of time after your surgery. I started feeling good on day3. the only issue I had was with postop gas pain. there are many things you can do to stay on top of that also. good luck and breathe,make affirmations list and positive imagery, meditate. It is diffiuclt for others to understand if they have not taken this journey. this website provides excellent support from ladies in all stages of this process. best of luck. namaste.

supplies you may want to have on hand. senokot or colace stool softener, gas-x or mylanta,ice pack, heating pad. crossword or sudoku puzzles favorite movies ( iget free from my library) . you can also catch up on emails postop .

Recovery is a process . healing is a journey taken one step at a time. sometimes just baby steps. :cathugs:
