Estrogen levels

I had my hysterectomy last May. Just after my surgery I had some anxiety. At that time my dr put me on Premarin and Paxil for 6 mo.
I was doing great.. Even since then, but then I wanted to get off Premarin and use the Vivelle .1mg patch. Since then, my breast are extremely tender and last night I experience another bout of anxiety. It threw me for a loop, I was not expecting it. I called my dr. to reduce the patch to .75mg. I truly think the .1mg is to much for me. Has anyone else experienced this?

What all is in the Vivelle Patch. Esteridol and what? Does it have any progesterone to balance the estrogen? And is this considered to be synthetic? What is the best way to go natural?
I do know if your liver is not functioning at its best, that Esteridol
can attribute to breast cancer. What is Esterol? Is this natural and can a dr prescribe it?

Alot of questions, sorry.

Patty,
The Vivelle Dot is estradiol only. It is considered to be bio-identical. Many women do fine on just estradiol. Some do find balance by adding progesterone to their hrt. You can read more about progesterone here www.hormonejungle.com/progest.php and here www.hormonejungle.com/progesterone.php

How long since you've made the switch? I have heard where it can take quite awhile for the synthetic hormones to get out of your system. You may be having a period of adjustment as the premarin leaves your system and adjusts to the Vivelle.

Estrogen levels

It has been nearly 2 months since I got off Premarin and started taking esteridol. I havent yet switched from the .1mg to the .75mg. What about the breast tenderness and anxiety, think progesterone cream will help. How many days out of the month should I use the cream? And should this be a continuous thing? I have access to Progesterone cream w/wild Yam.

How harmful is esteridol? You know how you hear so many things.. Originally, I had planned to go thru menopause naturally using progesterone cream.. But, then the surgery. Not sure exactly what I should be doing. Nothing against the medical field, but I do have concerns with it all.

Please advise,

Thanks,

Patty

Patty,
If you've been off the premarin for 2 months it could be that the .1 vivelle is too much for you. With the patch you are bypassing the liver and digestive system so you may need less.

Progesterone has been known to help with anxiety. I've been using progesterone since I was about 6 months post op and wouldn't be without it.

Have you read all the pull down menus at www.hormonejungle.com ? There is alot of good information there.
