Nervous about having bladder worked on along with TVH

I had my bladder sling op. 5 years BEFORE the hyst. I guess I did it the hard way. I came home with a foley cathater (it really was not as bad as the thoughts were beforehand) that they kept in a week. You and your doctor could be different though. Sometimes, the tissue needs time to relax and the swelling to go down before you have to start making it "work" again. If you have any specific questions about the bladder or TVH i would be glad to answer them.

Nervous about having bladder worked on along with TVH

Sheri 1960...interesting to read your post...I had the bladder suspension 3 years ago without a hyst....I was beginning to think I was the only one out there who had made that choice. Although, like you I think we did it the hard way. Here I am with a prolapsing uterus and being told I need the hyster....which I was trying to avoid. I also think there could be adesions from my previous surgeries...(c-sect, and bladder, and hernia repair) Did you have your hyster vaginally or abdominally? I am afraid the TVH will damage the bladder repair. Also, I need a urethrocele repair...Anyone know how they do that? I have a dr. appt the 27h of Feb to discuss these issues with doc. For all you gals worried about the bladder sling and catheters...don't worry, you will be glad for the cath the first few days. I had mine removed one day post op and could not go, got an infection and had to have it put back in to go home. It was in for a week, but when it came out I was able to go on my own pretty much right away. I did have the bladder spasms, but doc gave me meds for that. Best of luck to all of you.

Bladder and uterus

Hi out there sisters!
Gee I don't know where to start!
I was told when I was about to give birth to my first daughter that I have a tipped uterus-nothing was ever said about it again! Lately when my bladder is full-I feel the pain more in my right side( I have endo) I am having my hyst in 2 days-guess they will find out whats going on in there then(am scared)! As far as I know right now I am having everything removed.
Guess I just wanted to vent-any comments appreciated!
Good Luck to all of US!
