Hi Vicki
Here's hoping those platelets are behaving. My platelets were high before
my debulking surgery. And actually delayed the surgery for seven weeks.
They had me on a med called agralin (sp). I hated it. Made my heart just
pound. What med are you taking?

Hi gals!

{{hugs}} to you all and thank you for the well wishes.

I sure hope the platelets are behaving again myself. I was down to just a monthly visit since they had been pretty good but last visit they went back up so I'm back on an every other week checkup again.

Yep, you hit the nail on the head with the meds Karen, I've been on the Agrylin for about a year now. They at first had thought the raised platelets were due to the cancer but since they went right back up after the chemo we had to do some further investigating. They found after numerous tests, among the a bone marrow biopsy (OUCH!) that it was instead a condition called Thrombocytosis, so my body produces too many platelets.

And yep again, I HATE THIS MED TOO!!!! Same reason, they just changed the way I take it since taking 2 each night was contributing to keeping me awake with the pounding heart. Now they have me taking them split between morning and evening but it still is causing the heart pounding which is making me kind of jittery feeling while at work. So, which one is better, ya got me!

I'm really hoping both visits go well, as I was kinda getting used to NOT seeing Dr's all the darn time.

Thanks again so much gals, I'll keep you all posted on how the visits turn out.

Vicki Now that I know the med you are on personally, I am really hoping those
darn platelets are down. I know that feeling of the pounding heart. At one
point they had me taking three of those pills a day. Never at the same time
though. I spread it out to one every eight hours. I too had a bone
marrow biopsy and agree with you. OUCH!!!!
I've had my platelets checked twice since finishing chemo and they have
remained in the normal range. Apparently my platelets were high in
reaction to the cancer.
Here's hoping you get good news today and get rid of at least one of the
agrylin pills.
