Insurance question.

I had my LSH on 10/2011. I'm feeling good now. I was afraid that I wold instantly feel like a old lady and go into menopause, but I don't feel any drastic change. I just got a bill from a somebody that says was a surgical assistant with my dr with the operation. I don't think it's right to send somebody a bill a year and a half after my surgery and I have no idea who this person is. I called them and they said they were fighting with my insurance and I should call them. I called my insurance and they didn't know why to tell me. It's $165.00 deductible, but is there any statue of limitations for how long somebody can bill you? I don't think it's my insurance. I paid all my other bills promptly a long time ago and didn't have any problems. I think they waited this long to bill me and then they put on the bottom, thank you for your prompt attention to this matter.

Re: Insurance question.

If the insurance company was billed for it, then in essence "you" are probably considered to have been billed, too, especially if the amount was applied to your deductible which then reduced other bills.

Before ignoring this bill, you need some professional advice so you don't end up in collections.
