??? on hospital stay

Linda --
I knew I was forgetting something!!! The lotion and the sox! The sox were really important for me because my feet are always cold anyway and they were FREEZING in the hospital.

I like to do crossititch too -- by the end of my first week at home I found myself sitting at the table working on crosstitch. I'd work on it for a while, lie down for a while. I must have made 18 Xmas ornaments while I was recovering.

You sound very well-prepared to me...........best of luck to you.

??? on hospital stay

Hi Linda. I am also brining my own soap, wash clothes and a hand towel. I'm betting they smell and feel a little better than hospital issue. I will also bring my own towel for when/if I'm allowed to shower. 'Ponds' has disposable face cloths that will freshen your face during the day and the disposable face cleansers will be a little more refreshing in the mornings. An emory board might come in handy. s for you!
I also bought some puzzles to work on during recovery in case I get REAL bored.

??? on hospital stay

Hi Linda,

Good luck to you on your surgery and recovery. I'm almost 3 weeks post op and this website has been such a great source of info and support!!

I packed a small suitcase: new jammies (drawstring bottoms, which I still wear) and robe, which I didn't need until day 3 (beautiful hospital gowns until then), slippers - a must, hairbrush and a scrunchie to keep my hair out of my face, toothbrush and toothpaste (the kind with "built-in" mouthwash), a book (I read a little, don't remember much) and my most valued items - chapstick, Clinique's face moisturizer and a scented body lotion - I itched terribly from the morphine and my skin was always dry! I went home in my pj's (flannel) since my DH packed everything up in a frenzy when I was told that I could go home a day early! I also took my favorite bed pillow, and a small pillow that my DD sent with me to remind me of her - that ended up being my tummy pillow (and still is).

Take Care!
Janet
