my date...

My hysterectomy is scheduled for March 27.. HATE the date... too close to Easter and Passover... and the time stinks too... 2:40 in the afternoon.... first of all.. whats with the 40... are they THAT percise??? and its soooooo late in the afternoon I'm wondering (and I'll ask dr even if I look foolish) if its the last one he is doing that day and if it is that makes me uneasy... anyone ever get their date changed to a closer time.. I would love to have it on the 18th, 19, or 20th.. I am due (I think I'm somewhat irregular for my period on the 21st. so anytime that week would've been ideal. I know I am whinning but everyone is right... the waiting is so bad I hope they are also right when they say its mostly the worse part of it too.

Bad date

If the date isn't good for you, check with your doctor to see what you can do. I know I saw my doc on Jan. 7th and March 4th was the first open surgery date he had available. It gave me plenty of time to prepare my family and get informed on the procedure and what to expect. If your desire is to be feeling good for the holidays and he can't move you up, could you possibly move back a week or two? That way you could celebrate the holiday and then have the surgery? Best of luck in whatever you decide! This site makes the waiting MUCH easier!!!

my date...

Hi, Karah,

The first surgical date I scheduled turned out to be impossible for my husband. He just couldn't take time off then.

My doctor's office was very pleasant when I called to ask to re-schedule. They did the re-scheduling, and were very understanding. I didn't get to choose the time for my surgery, but we found a date that would work for everyone, and it wasn't a problem.

So I'd encourage you to call your doctor's office, and ask about re-scheduling. I hope they'll be able to find a better date for you.

Best wishes,

my date...

I work for a doctor, and know it is possible to change the date, IF it fits into the surgeon's schedule. You should call and ask...doesn't hurt to ask and find out. Mine was at 8 a.m.
I was GLAD to have it done EARLY and over with.
