How many follow-ups

I saw my doctor today for my two week checkup. She did not saw and did not schedule another appointment. I've been reading the information here and repeatedly says to check doctor's instructions for clearance at 4 and 6 weeks. Should I call and set up another appointment?

She said if I have any problems to give them a call, and no long term standing and no vacuuming for 4 weeks. She suggested I use a treadmill a little each day.

Is anyone else set up for multiple post-op checkups?

Re: How many follow-ups

Only mine at 3 weeks, nothing else. She said good to resume normal life at 6, and if anything comes up, see my regular doc or call her office with questions. Guess my gyn relationship is now over! Haha

Re: How many follow-ups

I had one at 2-1/2 weeks and was also told that I didn't need to come back unless there were problems. I scheduled a follow up at 8 weeks to have my cuff checked out. I want to give it some extra time before I attempt anything. He had no problem with me scheduling my appointment. I do have a great doctor! Love him!

Re: How many follow-ups

I only had one follow up at 3wks and my gyn didn't mention another follow up at that appointment. She didn't do an exam, but she did say to wait three more weeks before resuming intercourse and to ease back into normal activities. So I called last Thursday to make sure I didn't need another followup. I was told that I only need to return for my yearly exams and no other follow up is needed.

Re: How many follow-ups

I had mine at 4 weeks and was told I didn't need to come back. I think it depends on healing, if you're having trouble then it makes sense to follow up but if you've healed well there is really no need.

Re: How many follow-ups

I just had mine today, 3 weeks post-op. Dr. did a vaginal exam. Everything looked fine, and he said to come back in 4 weeks to make sure everything had healed up. He still said no heavy lifting and light exercise.

Guess every Dr is different. If your not sure, I would call and double check.

Re: How many follow-ups

I had initial one at 2 weeks and because I wanted another week off from work I went back at week 4 and my final appointment is scheduled for week 8. Everything is healing great I guess she just wants to clear me from restrictions.
