Re: Teallys Tourtured Tuppys

Hey Teally, whatcha gettin done? My next home project is new carpets. Ugggh! Every thing in every room must be moved out to do it. I don't know when we can do it, I will have to be in good enough shape to pack lots of stuff up. No way I would let my dh do some of it. I have a dog figurine collection that I have in a big display case that I have been collecting for years and years, actually started when I was a kid. I have lots of dog figurines from England too. Royal Daulton,Beswick, and German ones - Gobel etc. My kids will make a mint someday selling them on eBay after I'm gone. Those I will pack up myself, for sure. I just don't know when I can do this, it all depends. But I want new carpets, have been saving for it for years, and the carpeting is shot. I always get green carpet, the best on the market that I can find. That way it lasts a long time.
About 8 years ago we remodeled the kitchen, new cabinets - Cherry (so pretty) and new corian countertops all new appliances , what a mess while they were doing it, I hated it, but it was worth the bother, I love my kitchen.
I hate the "doing" but I love the "done".

Re: Teallys Tourtured Tuppys

Hey I just thought of something.
Maybe we should just refer to our surgeries as getting
ourselves "remodeled" eh?
Oh I'm getting my rear end remodeled, what are you doing?
lol. It's the cold meds talking now.

Re: Teallys Tourtured Tuppys

Hello love ,I'm always having stuff done ,we had new kitchen ,bathroom .and now we had conservative food tiled instead of glass hubby did that ,but it made my kitchen dark like a black hole ,so we had sky light windows put in x 2 and we are having the inside of the roof plaster boarded and painted ,to make it more cosy ,as it's north facing and freezing in winter ,and when it rains it was deafening on the plastic roof ,we was trying to save money tiling instead of glass roof ,but it's cost us more now as the windows were a bomb ,and to fit them ,and plaster ,I ain't had the price ,bill for that yet ,yikes, and kitchen still dark ,dam ,house as dust all over and floors ,but what the heck ,it's my money to waist , we had all new central heating and boiler just before my op ,and 2 x woodburners my husband fitted the woodburners and made fireplaces ,had to pay for heating and boiler doing ,we try and get mates rates with stuff ,but not got mates that can do every job ,my hubby does all sorts himself ,he really good at mending and DIY ,and land scape gardening ,plants and fencing ,paving ,he a perfectionist ,we only have a small garden ,so he carnt do what he would like ,but it's lovely so is my boys ,he did all there's ,with garage and sheds ,fencing flagging complete makeover ,there's we're a right mess too ,there stunning now ,he as great eye for design ,I'm lucky to have him xxx what you up to ,if I don't come back on its cos we having gr son soon xxxx

Re: Teallys Tourtured Tuppys

Better hang on to that one, my dear. My dh is handy too. So great after my first h. He couldnt fix anything, so I appreciate my dh so much more.
Not everyman is a handyman. In many, many ways.

Re: Teallys Tourtured Tuppys

You ladies are so lucky to have dh's who do projects and finish them!! Mine loves to start new things, and only finishes when I tell him he can't start anything new until he finishes everything that's already in progress...

Re: Teallys Tourtured Tuppys

Well I woke up this morning having another what I call "a near death experience". I am so sick. I called my Dr. office, and tried to talk to them between coughs and they have phoned in a script for Z pak , antibiotics. And some good strong cough syrup. My dh is off to pick it up, they didn't want me to come in to the office, nobody wants what I have. I just pray that I have not infected my dh. Someone has to be well enough to take care of me. I have never been this susceptible to colds etc as I have been since all my female probs began. I think the stress of being "in trouble" makes me weaker to fight things off.
If I am not very much better by Friday noon, they will phone in some prednizone for me. I was sick like this just 6 mos ago. I have asthma, and allergies, and the wind has been blowin' and the flowers are bloomin' and I feel like stool. IYKWIM.
