Re: Teallys Tourtured Tuppys

Is it spring ANYWHERE?? I swear, I'm so tired of cold, gray days -- 40 degrees and thunderstorms today and we're not going to see anything above 60 for another week. It's late April, we should have LOT of nice days by now... (whine, whine, whine...)

Oops. The dogs are outside. I should go let them in.

Re: Teallys Tourtured Tuppys

I guess it's ok to just say on here, that I have my surgery date set. It is May 28th, that is 2 days after my Birthday! So you guessed what I'm getting for my B-day, right? Oh Yeah, this will be a year to remember.
I've always waited for the year I freak out, some women do at 30, some have a hard time being 40 or 50, but I have never gone thru that. Maybe 60? Oh well, it still beats the alternatives I say.
At least this time, I wont say that I went where it was easy to go, not to the place where I would have the best surgeon. This will be a hassel,
as it is very far away, but I am determined to do it.

Re: Teallys Tourtured Tuppys

Well done and congratulations JC! Lots of new clothes, in fact new everything. Sorry about the bladder sling, what can be done? Anti-infammatories? Flame, your surgery is scheduled about 10 days before mine, still waiting for confirmation in the post, waiting and more waiting. Lovely and sunny here now today, November like 60mph gales over night, Spring really is coming, just taking its time.

Re: Teallys Tourtured Tuppys

Flame, I'm so happy you have your date set!! I'm like you on the birthdays and not freaking out, though I did have a bit of a time before my hysterectomy when all the medical people kept reminding me that I was over 50 (I was 51). I watched the movie Young at Heart -- about a group of elderly people who do song and dance performances. SERIOUSLY good for anyone under 80 who starts feeling old.

I've told you before about losing that post-hysterectomy year with complications and I can only tell you that I came through the other side of that in a MUCH better place than where I was when I went into it. I weigh 65 pounds less, quit smoking, eat right, exercise, and have found a real sense of peace about things that I've never had before. While part of this is due to having my thyroid medication where it should be, another part is from the time I spent reflecting on my life while I was going through all the crap. We don't always see the whys when things are happening, but they often become apparent later when we see how much better off we are for having gone through the bad times.

Re: Teallys Tourtured Tuppys

Congrats on the weigh loss Jccampbell, I know it has taken a lot of resolve and work to achieve that. How did your sling get inflamed?
What are your symptoms? What kind of sling do you have? Pretty nosy, huh?
Hey miss Julylady, it will be you and I recovering pretty much at the same time. Glad to have someone with a near/same date.
We will compare pains!

Re: Teallys Tourtured Tuppys

((((Ladies)))) Just a reminder to keep this thread for chatter and not for discussions about surgeries, either past or upcoming. I realize it can be confusing, but please post all medical/surgery/health related questions in the main forums.

That's understandable. I just hope no one takes it personally when I post reminders; it's not my intention to make things difficult.

Sending and best wishes to all of you. Have a great day.
