Please Excuse Me, But I HAVE GOT TO VENT!

Hi Ladies,
I was just looking at the health segments on MY YAHOO, which is an option on my news webpage that I have chosen to inform myself about the latest reports on breaking health reports, etc.

I went through the roof after I read this and I wrote a very strong letter to the website about this doctor's "advice" to this patient.

If you care to read it, please NOTICE that Dr. Dean Edell thoroughly avoids the topic of HORMONES that the woman SPECIFICALLY asked about!

http://health.yahoo.com/health/exper...an/answer.html

I have never in my life seen such an ego based insensitive response from a doctor in my life. The worst part about this, is that it is on the internet and people will be swayed by this.

Here is where you can write your comments, if you want to and if it is allowed for me to do this on this website. The e-mail address is:

comments@healthcentral.com

Thanks for listening,
NoNoLoLola

P.S. He also added his thoughts about diseases that she didn't even ask about....It's outrageous!

You have a right to vent. I went to the site and read the article. I can't believe someone can be that ignorant. All the studies being done to prove it's a true sickenss and then someone like him comes along, thinking he has the answers. I was so mad after reading it that I looked for somewhere on the site to send email. I told him exacty what I thought. More people should do that. Who does he think he is!!!

I Know ....

Hi Sue,

I posted the e-mail address that you can write to/send comments to. Here it is again!:

comments@healthcentral.com

In my opinion, this *advice* that Dr. Edell gave to this innocent inquiry was insulting to her and anyone who read it. It showed his ignorance.

I just couldn't believe what I was reading!!! Thank you for sending in your comments!

What a fool, what an ignorant fool When I get time I'll be emailing too - rubbish like this we don't need on the net! I'll be especially commenting on his ignorance of CFS and how he musn't understand much about the immune system to make such comments. My doc is head of medicine at a major teaching hospital here and the proof is in various diagnostic testing and blood indicators for 'true' CFS nowadays. any doc who doesn't know that is not keeping up with the latest!

I honestly had to read that *advice* of his 2 times. The first time, I actually thought it was a joke or something....

It is even more terrible because this Dr. Dean Edell is featured by television and radio stations as an *authority*. He is considered to be very respected in this country.

It's unbelievable....Thank you Lily! For your support and for writing your comments!

I say, everyone write this fool an email and tell him to do his homework. How dare he comment on a subject that he obviously has no knowledge on.(although he thinks he does) That's like a kick in the teeth to someone who actually does have this problem. Like I said before, I'll take the word of a doctor such as someone from here at the Cleveland Clinic who has done their reseach. They just don't come up with things off the top of their head like this doctor. I say write write write and let him know what we all think.

I'm beginning to believe that alot of Doctors are not our friends! I am flabbergasted by his lack of knowledge, but most of all his pompous attitude!

Noted, disapproved and commented on!!!!

You're right, hormones weren't mentioned but that wasn't the point. There are a lot of peope suffering from fibromyalgia and to say what he said was offensive. My sister has it. Is there a hormone link to it all, who knows? the doctor never said. He's talking about a field he must not have knowledge in.
