ovarian cyst

I went to the E.R. last night in alot of pain I thought I was having a kidney stone pass. They did the scans and stuff and found I had a kidney stone that had not passed yet, but I have a 6 cm cyst on my left ovary. I had a TVH, but kept my ovaries. The Doc checked my ovaries during surgery and said they looked fine. That was 6 weeks ago. I have to see him in the morning and am worried that now he will want to do another surgery to remove the ovaries. Anyone else have this experiance. Thanks for any input in advance. Mary

ovarian cyst

I get cysts every month, my doctor said that most just disappear on their own, he has removed 2 of them, 1 canteloupe size and the other orange size, sorry don't know what that would be in cm. I had my tvh on 2/4 and when i went in for my 1 week checkup the dr said I will probably keep getting them as i ovulate each month. He does not seem all that concerned about mine. You may have just finished ovulating at that time, that is why they saw the cyst. They can be very painful. It is interesting that you have a kidney stone however, i just spent saturday night in the er with my husband, he apparently has several of them and was in horrible pain. Good luck tomorrow at the dr. Let us know how things go. feel free to email me as well if you would like. [email protected]

ovarian cyst

Its no fun getting ovarian cysts after you have had your surgery. I am now 6 years past my hyst though after I had mine I continued to get cysts. I had to have my ovaries out 12 months ago after another cyst formed and I ended up in Emergency. Try keeping your ovaries as long as you can, it really is for the better.
I am now on HRT and its another kettle of fish all together. I have also had stones in the past so i am not sure if they tie in any where though.
Feel free to email me any time.

I hope you feel better soon and good luck with your Doctor.

Me too

Mine responded to being put on the pill for a few weeks. Cleared it right up. I too was very afraid of having more surgery and wow did mine hurt! Scary isn't it? I was just given the "its gone!" message last week, but the ovary is still pretty cranky yet.

I too have cysts.. I had a tah/right ovary removed..I am also worried about my left ovary.. befor the surgery I had a cyst on the left ovary and they left that one and took the right one because of cyst and growth... I asked the doctor if I would be in again to have the other one removed and he said if I could keep it for 5 years the better! so I guess all I can hope for is that they keep going away on there own..sure don't want to have another surgery now!
They also say it is very normal for us to have cysts and not to worry about them...most go away on there own...WE HOPE!

Still worry...

ovarian cyst

I went to the doc this morning; and cyst is fluid filled and I probably get them each month as someone here suggested it is no big deal. Kidney stone however has to pass and if it hasn't by tomorrow it will need assistance. I also have clusters of them waiting passage as well. I am glad cyst will take care of itself. I wish there was a law somewhere though that stated we were only aloud to be sick with one thing at a time. Thanks for the input. Mary
