Silly question

I know it's not a beauty contest and I know I really won't care about nail polish and make up. But my husband and I both thought that if I had my day of pampering that maybe it would help keep me relaxed and not be so freaked out. Besides doing little things like that sometimes make me feel better.

Thanks for the responses everyone, I'll have to ask my doctor about it.

Silly question

I'm getting my nails done this week, cheduled for 3/11/02. I get the gel nails in a french manicure and no polish and they look natural. No one will ever know . My toe nails will be bright red. They didn't say anything about makeup, but I probably won't wear any anyway.

Nail Polish

Hi there,

Just to tell you right off the bat, that is not a silly question. As a nursing student (almost graduate) I can tell you what will happen. In the OR they have to be able to monitor your Oxygen levels with a little clip that is attached to your fingernail. It does not hurt at all it looks like a clothes clip with a hollowed out part in the middle.

With this on they can see what your O2 (oxygen) level is. You can't have nail polish on at this time because the polish would interfere with the readings.

I suggest getting the massage and the pedicure. Treat yourself properly the day before.

Don't worry and get the hubby to do all that he can for you

Silly question

Thanks everyone and thank you nsg-gl for your response. I know all too well about the monitor that checks oxygen levels. Three of my kids have asthma and they use that everytime I take them in when they're having a flare up. I did not know that nail polish could interfere with the readings. Thanks for letting me know.
