Pre-Op Concerns

Hi Modern Girl! Im from NC too!! That walking is important for your recovery. I was taking a few steps the day of my surgery. They next day I was going up and down the hall.... very slowly of course. Then when I got home, I walked around the house and in about 3/4 days was going down the driveway to the mail box and back. Each day I added 30 minutes to the time I was up and on my feet. By 2 weeks I was driving and drove myself to the dr. for my first post op appt. Having surgery of any kind makes you feel nervous and anxious. All the people at my hospital were WONDERFUL! My whole experience was very good except for the cruddy food! Ugh! You will be fine and Im sure will be taken well care of. Just take it easy, rest, dont lift, pull, tug etc... (they will give you a list of all the do's and dont's before you leave)... after a few weeks of taking it easy, you will start to feel alot better and each day you will have more strength. I feel great! Better than I have in about 10 years! Having this surgery was definately a good move for me. I hope it will be for you too!
Take care and let us know how you are doing!!
