15 Minute Ride Home

Hi Susie,
I had the same question about pain meds & what car to take. We have a conversion van & a PT cruiser. Would definetly have to have the step stool for the van, but getting in & out of the car might be harder!! What to do??? :confuse:

Seat Belt safety

I would NOT advise reclining in a seat in a moving vehicle.
The seat belt is designed to work with you in the upright position, and provides NO protection with you reclined. (You could "torpedo" under the seat belt.)
In an accident, the seat belt would not be able to properly restrain you,and an air bag may cause more harm.
They are designed to work as a team, check your owner's manual for specifics.
Take Care,

15 Minute Ride Home

I had a 45 minute ride home from the castle after a TAH. I put a pad on my panties so that the incision had some padding (horizontal) and I had my splint pillow hubby made from a sheet.

Yeah, there were some bumps, but not too bad. The R X R was the worst!

I was on some pain medicine before I left, so that helped as well.

Good luck!

Yes, in fact it depends on how cushy your car seat is; when I drive my SUV I use a little pad on the seat and I'm fine, but when I drive my small car the seat is firmer and I find it's much more comfy if I sit on a donut pillow there. You might bring both kinds and see what feels better when the time comes.
