I want to say thank you to all of you. I am scheduled to have a TAH on March 13th. Being in the medical field for over 30 years I am a little apprehensive. But reading alll the stories on this site has really given me some peace. I have two large ovarian cysts, adhesions, a large varicose vein on the uterus and severe abdominal pain. I do have to say I am looking forward to having it done, but not looking forward to the immediate post-op period. I am having my pre-admission testing this Wednesday and one of my concerns is the medication for pain. Percodan really makes me ill (vomiting) so I am praying that I won't have to deal with a med that is going to cause that. Please feel free to contact me, as I would love to hear from "ALL" of you!!! :email:

Best Wishes on your upcoming surgery! Talk to your doctor about the pain meds that you will be given while in the castle and when at home. The anest. doc can put something into your I.V. while you are still under that can help with nausea. Also, while in the castle, if you are nauseated, make sure to ask the nurse for something. I think most docs already put the orders in for those anti-nausea meds in advance (just in case it is needed).
