So, what do you do to pass the time?

Hi Sisters. Wondering what you all do to pass the time? I'm at 6 weeks now, getting my check up on Monday and hope I get cleared to do more

So far I've:

Read about 20 books
Watched every BBC master series program I can find (Great Expectations was awesome!)
Organized photos (ongoing)
Watched so much HGTV I can build and decorate a house single-handed (if I had the energy)
Laid on the sofa for HOURS!
Internetted my brains out!
Played Free-cell and MahJong on my phone
Tried out Lumosity for my brains!
bought too much stuff on Amazon
Walked

How about you? I thought this would be a fun thread!

Re: So, what do you do to pass the time?

Only 1 week out so i haven't had a lot of time but open for ideas.
Some crocheting.
Started doing puzzles on my iPad because I can do that laying down.
(Hurts sitting upright)
Went to a doctors visit with my daughter. My dad drove. It took a lot out of me.
Napped. That gets boring too.

Re: So, what do you do to pass the time?

Same here (read my post "stir crazy"). Yesterday, I changed my nail polish 6 times. I usually don't wear nail polish.

I've almost caught up on Greys Anatomy on NetFlix (had't watched it before), go for walks when possible. Read, internet blah blah blah...

I try not to nap not to disturb my sleep at night, but it's getting pretty boring. I do light (!!??) house work.

I'm also up for suggestions. It may not be a medical question, but an real one nonetheless .

Re: So, what do you do to pass the time?

Going on my 3rd week and I am also tired of tv and reading. Have started walking a little and just set small goals for myself. I have also done some light housekeeping and cooking as long as it does not involve heavy lifting. Pictures on the walls are dust free and doggie nose prints no longer are on my French doors. Organized a file cabinet and cleaned out junk drawers. I need to feel productive and since daytime tv sucks I have tried to have a small project daily where I can rest when I get tired!

Re: So, what do you do to pass the time?

Well, 1 week out for me. So far, I've

Internetted (been on this board quite a bit, facebooked alot etc..)
watched tv
rested
walk around the block twice a day (added a couple blocks today)
went out to eat a couple times with family and friends
read a book I've been trying to finish for literally years
played about 300 4 pics, 1 word puzzles.
I sit outside in the morning to read the paper, watch the bunnies eat the flowers.

My stuff I haven't busted into yet...
I make magnets out of domino's - so want to get a bunch done for a craft sale in November.
Beading - my sister bought me a new necklace, earring kit.
Designer coloring book for the detailed adult doodler - that's me!
And I have 6 episodes of Bates Motel to watch yet.

I'm off work until Aug 12th..I have a feeling for the first time in a long time, I will actually look forward to being there! But..then, maybe I'll get used to this not working deal!

Good thread!

Re: So, what do you do to pass the time?

I'm 16 DPO and so far I've...
- laid in bed until my hips got sore
- napped
- Facebooked & played on the internet
- I've watched 4 seasons of The Big Bang Theory
- read 5 books & 3 magazines
- walked to the mailbox & back
- gotten REALLY bored.

Oh, and I've bred more dragons for my Dragonvale game than I ever thought I would. I've downloaded more games too, like Minion Rush and the new Monsters University game for the iPhone. *yawn*
I think I want to try knitting an eternity scarf.

Re: So, what do you do to pass the time?

Let's see...I'm almost two weeks post op, I've watched seasons 1-5 of Big Bang Theory, any Big Bang Theory's that we have on DVR, seasons 1 and 2 of Downton Abbey, I empty the dishwasher one rack at a time having a rest in between each rack, and the same for loading the dishwasher, taking caution when bending over. I've spent far too much time on Facebook and the Internet, and I feel like I'm stalking this site because I am constantly checking back for new posts to read. And my favorite activity, spending lots of cuddle time with my Labrador, Stella. She is used to me being home because I work from home, but this is new to her that I can lay down a cuddle all day

Re: So, what do you do to pass the time?

P83, I am impressed. I walked a little over a mile yesterday. Swam a little in the afternoon. Took ibuprofen and sleeping pill at 8 and went to bed feeling like I had been hit by a train! I wish I had found this website before surgery so I would have known what to expect. What I have learned is everyone is different and learn to pay attention to your own body. I grossly overestimated what my energy level would be!
