SDiva...I'm with you on the scary cancer sites. The lab hasn't sent in the results yet - 8 days later. Makes me somewhat nervous. Staying positive...praying....reading. I'm afraid of my cat though since she jumped on me in the middle of the night - right onto my belly!!!!! She misses me though, I can tell. <3

My kitty does the same! LOL I have a calico and they are known for being affectionate and intuitive. Lay on your side and see if she plops down by you. The warmth and purring feels GREAT on the incision!

I've decided that whenever I get curious about looking up scary stats I am going to read a chapter of Psalms instead, and pray...

I have a calico named Izzy. She's very careful around me since I've been home. Lays beside me instead of on top of me. Its like she knows!

Re: So, what do you do to pass the time?

I had to have a discussion with my two cats about how lying in Mumma's belly and purring is great, but *no* kneading the belly!

Fortunately we're past that stage now! :-)

I'm only 5 days post op RALH. But not a patient patient. Tv is just noisy to me, can't concentrate on reading books yet. I. Walk two times a day. And need a hobby quick. I bought some magnetic picture frames today, and am thinking of a project for them. Maybe funny or inspirational signs. Also my cat 'smiles' at me to make me feel better. Yeah for the animals.

Re: So, what do you do to pass the time?

Wow! Some of you sisters make me feel like an absolute slug! I am 7 weeks PO and still recovering. In the early days I watched old TV programs like Murder, She Wrote and napped. Couldn't really concentrate on doing much else.

I am on this website everyday! Thank God for it! it has helped my recovery enormously!

I have read a few books, lots of magazines and I go for outings every day. I play with my 2 mini- doxies every day. Doggies are such good company.

The weeks have at times dragged by or flown by....I am amazed that I did not do those art projects, clean out that closet, organize my files, read more books....what in the world did I do?

But here I am, almost all the way healed, feeling grateful and getting ready to face another school year!

Hope you all recovery safely and peacefully, too!

I have two kitties and a doggie. I expected the doggie to be the one following me everywhere... nope its the Tortie girl. She is my meowing shadow. She KNOWS when I hurt the most. She never jumps on me just sits or lays next to me, puts her paw on my cheek and alternates between licking my face or just cuddling. Did I mention she is a tortie? My little attitude girl has turned into my nurse maid!

I'm 16 days out and my nook my mom gave me when I broke my feet last year is my best friend lol. She also gave me a gift card with it.. read read read read. Also the internet, this website (my surgeon has been awful with giving me information) and playing games like The Sims 3 and stuff! Oh and snuggling the animals of course.

Re: So, what do you do to pass the time?

14 days for me, I got my 20 staples out this past Monday, went shopping afterwards & boy did it kick my butt... Still having lots of pain across tummy & incision site. Still having gas pains too. Ran out of Percocet today so it's 800mg ibuprofen from now on.

I've gone out for lunch with a couple friends, watched tons on TV, started reading a book & make daily trips to mailbox for exercise. If I didn't have my iPad I'd be lost..

Play games daily ie: words with friends, hidden puzzles, bejeweled blitz etc on iPad what a life saver... Tired of laying in bed so tried sitting on sofa, couldn't get comfortable.. So back to the bed with lots of pillows.

My 4 shelties keep me company laying in bed with me, still have 6 weeks to go..

Going to see Sara Evans in concert Saturday night, I will be sitting in my seat just watching her sing, no jumping around for me...

So, what do you do to pass the time?

I have doubled my following on Pinterest due to all the " pinning" I've done. Got alot of ideas& goals from there & things to do with kiddos. Wouldn't it be great if this site gave links and ideas of things to do?!?!!
Oh- and tried a French manicure- looks like a kindergartener did it
