One More Thing...

What is all this about the "bladder sling" -- my biggest fear is that my bladder will be uncontrollable and I'll end up in diapers (it would be my luck).

Is this something that is routine? Do I have to ask for/about it?

I left my last visit not knowing what questions to ask, but this website has enlightened me.

I don't know what kind of procedure or anything that I'm having.

What should I ask?

Hi Sue,
I didn't have a bladder sling and it is not routine. Here is what I know based on posts I've read here and friends who had this. A bladder sling is used to help support a bladder that may have dropped or is not in the correct position. You might want to check with your doc about whether or not he/she plans any sort of support work related to your bladder. As I said, I did not need this and my bladder is just fine.

You could also use the purple "search" button and type in the terms "bladder sling" to see other posts about this topic.

If you are wondering what other questions to ask, check out the pull down menu on the home page for "Ladies in Waiting." There is a list of suggested questions to ask your gyn. Hang in there, Sue. We're here for you!
