Unhappy - I had a diet drink I had a diet drink

Ok I had 1 diet pepsi tonight am I backslidden? Part of me feels bad. We went out to celebrate my B-Day as a family. I got just 1 drink with my meal. Was doing OK till we got ready to leave and my 15 year old said I can't wait to get a Mountain Dew the bubbles awww it is soo good. I lost it at that point. Got to the place and ordered a diet pepsi. I went 10 days with no regular or diet drinks. Do I have to start all over now? I feel so bad about being weak. I am starting my gym program Thursday.

Don't beat yourself up about it. A diet pepsi once in a while isn't a bad thing, it's when that's all you drink that it's not good. That's like anything else, if you deny yourself it makes you want it more. Give yourself that one a day, or every couple of days or whatever and you won't feel like you've deprived yourself. If you have to punish yourself when you have a diet soda (notice I said "diet" not regular) have an extra glass of water to offset it.

awww now don't go beating yourself up over the one pepsi. True you succumbed to it's calling out your name ... but had you not given up drinking sodas, how many would you have consumed thes epast 10 days? And how many did you have? One ... diet no less. I'd say you're still a success!!

Sheri,

It's much more enjoyable when it's a "treat", right? It's not bad in that quantity, it's a bonus like a piece of chocolate or something. Try to stretch it out as long as you can (like another 10 days if you can) and you'll enjoy the next one that much more!

You're too hard on yourself girl! Look what you've done so far. Have fun with the treadmill program Thursday. That will probably help with the cravings too!
